Restaurant

Set within the former village schoolhouse, the restaurant occupies the old kitchen with dining spaces extending into the former gymnasium. Nordic ingredients are interpreted through classic French techniques, creating a refined style rooted in Lapland. Table service is warm and attentive, while the atmosphere moves naturally from relaxed and welcoming by day to intimate and polished in the evening.

Our restaurant opens its doors for hotel guests and general public on November 1st.

Nordic Dining in Rovaniemi, Lapland Refined by French Technique

Breakfast is a table-served à la carte affair, offering a generous selection of savoury and sweet dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients. Later in the day, guests are invited to enjoy pullakahvit—Finnish-style coffee and pastries—while the daytime menu offers relaxed, comforting plates suited to a slow lunch or an easy afternoon.

In the evening, the restaurant shifts into a more refined rhythm with a seasonal three-course dinner. The menu brings together Nordic ingredients and classical French technique, allowing exceptional regional produce to lead while adding precision and a contemporary point of view.

Across every service, the approach remains generous, thoughtful and quietly polished. Much is prepared in-house, ingredients are used with care, and menus evolve naturally with the seasons.

The Artistry of Drink Making

Our attentive bar team carefully develops a full-rounded seasonal curation of drinks, using techniques that add depth, texture and balance. House-made cordials, infusions, washed spirits, foams and spice blends bring structure to both cocktails and alcohol-free serves, with careful attention to acidity and finish.

The kitchen and bar work closely together, allowing flavours and ideas to move naturally from plate to glass. Ingredients are used thoughtfully across both, creating a subtle connection between the food and drinks while supporting a low-waste way of working. The result is a drinks experience that feels considered from beginning to end, whether enjoyed before dinner, alongside the menu or later in the evening.

What Has Been Written About Our Kitchen...

Each evening begins with an amuse-bouche that sets the tone: e.g. French onion soup served in miniature. Deeply caramelized, layered, and capped with molten Gruyère that stretches into long strands before melting back into the bowl. It is not a novelty but a statement of intent: technique first, comfort second, precision throughout.

The food is urban chic. Everything is made on site by a French chef: from the small-plates breakfast to the elegant dinner with dishes like pumpkin pasta or reindeer rillettes with crispy brioche. The highlight was the cocktails: the sommelier Santeri busies himself making his own syrups from regional fruits and sourcing award-winning gin from interesting new Nordic distilleries.

Flavours blend Nordic sensibilities and French technique; creamy reindeer rillettes with crispy brioche, seared duck with rich jus, extra-flaky tarte tatin created totally from scratch – even the pastry is made to order. Cheeseboards and fruit bowls are scattered with blueberries and sprays of redcurrants, adding pleasing Nordic aestheticism.
